Suppose that you’ve got a credit card that you can use as much as you want. On top of that you don’t have to pay back a single dime you spend with that card. Unlimited confidence is much better than the magic credit card, because it can offer you all the things that you can buy with that card and even more. And more than that unlimited confidence is much more realistic than the magic credit card. The question is how you can develop unlimited confidence.

It’s human nature that new desires form in us every day. There’s no reason for fighting, ignoring, or avoiding our desires. The first step to unlimited confidence is to acknowledge our desires, no matter what they are. As soon as we start judging ourselves by anything we desire, we sabotage our confidence at that very moment.

In which ways do we judge our desires? We judge some of our desires to be beyond our reach. We don’t believe that we can accomplish them. We judge other desires to be childish or silly. We label some of our desires to be immoral, or plain sick. We don’t even admit those desires to ourselves.

No matter what you desire, don’t judge it. Desires aren’t something you decide on consciously. You don’t choose your desires. The best you can do with them is to accept them as they are.

Acknowledging and accepting your desires don’t mean that you have to pursue all of them. Your desires aren’t conscious, but your choices are. Choose consciously which desires you want to pursue and convert them into crystal clear goals.

Keep your goals in sight. Go over them every day. Be open to new ideas. Maintain a list of ideas and tasks to accomplish those goals. Prioritize your goals and tasks, and act on them. Pick the most important one each day and carry it out. Completing one task is infinite times better than thinking about all the items in your list, starting some of them, but not finishing any of them.

Do your best to realize your goals and let the universe figure out the rest. Don’t get attached to the results. Don’t expect anything. Let the universe take care of the results. Use the outcome as feedback to improve yourself, but not as a way to validate yourself.

Being confident isn’t about being better than your brother, colleagues, or neighbors. Being confident is about knowing that you’re doing your best at each instant of your life. As you keep doing your best to realize your desires, you’ll witness two things. First, the desires that matter will become a part of your reality. Second, the desires that don’t matter will vanish along with the uncomfortable feeling of unrealized desires.

If you accept your desires, do your best to realize them, and let the universe take care of the rest, unlimited confidence is inevitable.
